The Society, WADAMS, was formed in 1952 in order to “promote, improve, develop and maintain public appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation and public performance of  Musical Works and Concerts”.

The Society, a member of NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) is made up of members ranging from 8 to 85 years old, who perform concerts, musicals and pantomimes, usually in The Carnegie Theatre, Workington.

Our younger members, numbering approximately 50, 8 to 16 years old, make up our Next Generation. They meet weekly and stage concerts and shows during the year. Recent productions by Next Generation have included Alice in Wonderland, Cats and Fame the Musical. Next Gen members also make up part of our annual pantomime cast.

Our senior section, 16 years old and above, put on concerts, musicals and pantomimes.

We have our own headquarters on Gordon Street in Workington, where we stage our production and chorus rehearsals.
